Indeed It Is All About Good Health

We at Your Wardrobe are very very mindful of the fact that a “healthy you, enhances your wardrobe”. When you are healthy you can only feel better and look better too. While we make handmade accessories such as bowties, hairbows, handbags, earrings, and necklaces for men and women, to keep you looking stylish and fashionable, eating right helps your body internally and or externally as the case may be.

Some say Coconut oil is one such health enhancer. You can consume it, (all things in moderation) of course, and apply it externally, that is apply it to your skin and hair and so on. A doctor said, “use nothing on your skin that you won’t put into your mouth”. Coconut oil is natural and works well without any of the harsh adverse reactions that can come with some skin care products.

I can only tell you of my experience with this golden oil and say it has been tried, tested, and proven. My doctor recommended mixing a little coconut oil with some turmeric powder. This forms a paste that you rub on your hands at night. At the time, I had a bent finger and I was showing signs of arthritis. It was painful, try crafting especially crocheting with a bent middle finger.

I never knew the cold, like a really, cold air-conditioned room, and sitting in it for hours could affect your joints. While the paste left my hands yellow and I had to sleep with gloves to avoid the bed sheets getting stained, the remedy worked wonders. What also helped was, paying attention to my diet and avoiding foods that caused inflammation but we can talk about that in another blog. Coconut oil improves joint care and is highly recommended for rheumatoid arthritis diagnosed persons, some say.

There is no getting away from the high cost of coconut oil particularly because it is in very high demand. The good news is you can try your hand at making it yourself. Take a look at this video I made. It is not recent but the content is very relevant. Let me know how it turned out if you tried it.

I grew up seeing my mother on the sewing machine a lot. Our house was always filled with fabric and I was bitten by the sewing bug at an early age. Today, in addition to Photography, I also make accessories and children’s clothing, under the Your Wardrobe Label.
