My favorite crafting supplies and tools for 2022

If you have been reading my blogs in 2022 and before thank you and welcome back. If you are new, you are most welcome and, I do look forward to having you read my blogs in the future.

In this blog, I wanted to highlight some of the fantastic crafting supplies I discovered previously but finally got to try in 2022. As a Craftsperson who creates multiple products, supplies, are important. While there have been some issues with supply chains since the Pandemic, these products made my job of producing fashion accessories much easier. When the job becomes more efficient I have more time to either relax or get other tasks accomplished.

From Sewing clips to Rotary Cutters and Cutting Boards amongst others, these products were not trending by chance, they work. You will hear me say very often that every trade has its tools and so crafting is no exception. What is important also is that the items I found were very affordable, even with the cost of shipping.

Let me introduce you to some of these supplies.

Sewing Clips

These Sewing Clips hold, for example, pieces of fabric together and work better than pins most times. A distinct advantage is that they have considerably decreased the risk that comes with working with pins. No more getting stuck by a pin I forgot to remove from a project I was working on. They are made from plastic and function like clothes clips. While they are small in size they manage to quite easily hold several layers together. I bought my clips from MumCraft on Amazon because of the reviews, price, and decorative storage box that the clips came in. You can also check out the product video on Amazon.

Rotary Cutter Set

In addition to price, reviews, and packaging I like to shop for quality combination deals. I say quality because sometimes there are add-ons that are not useful or necessary. This is why I was super excited to find the Rotary Cutter Set which came with a Cutting Mat, extra blades, and a quilting ruler which is handy for sewing. The Rotary cutter works excellent for cutting layers of fabric as well as small items. The cutting board is thick and good for cutting material and it protects your counter tops

Wire Rounder Set

This wire rounder works really well for smoothing the ends of cut wire. It eliminates the rough or sharp edge of a piece of craft wire which is always a problem. The wire rounder is easy to grip and once you get the hang of it really makes a difference and improves the finish of your product.

Jump Rings

Even though I can make jump rings it is just faster to purchase them in bulk. These Open Jump Rings work really well and come in multiple sizes. They work on earrings and other crafting projects.

I also got some earring hooks and other findings and will talk about them in another blog. Mean time you can check out a previous video I did where I replaced some earring hooks.

The good thing about being a Crafter or Crafts Person is that usually, you like making varied items. Sometimes you make items just for yourself. I like making new Pot Holders and Mittens for the kitchen especially because I am always cooking and baking. I discovered two materials that make these kitchen aids really well, before discovering them I used other kinds of linings like foam.

1. Bosal Poly-Therm Heat Reflective Fleece

2. Pellon, Natural Wrap-N-Zap Cotton Quilt Batting, 45 by 36-Inch, 1 Pack

In one of my blogs I will share the mittens I made with you and I do hope you get a chance to try some of these crafting supplies. I will be sure to write about any new supply finds, particularly when I am working on creating new products. Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I will see you in my next blog.

I grew up seeing my mother on the sewing machine a lot. Our house was always filled with fabric and I was bitten by the sewing bug at an early age. Today, in addition to Photography, I also make accessories and children’s clothing, under the Your Wardrobe Label.
